Winged monkey flower is rare in Connecticut; it is listed by the state as a species of special concern. It looks similar to monkey flower, which is much more common. Winged monkey flower can be identified by its very short flower stalks and longer leaf stalks. In contrast, monkey flower's flower stalks are longer than its leaf stalks.
